Maria L. Castillo Rios

On Friday, June 18th, 2021, Maria L. Castillo Rios, loving mother of 3, passed away at age 61. Maria was born May 1st, 1960 in Durango, MX to Josefina and the late Juan Castillo. Maria grew up in the Roseland neighborhood where she also raised her 3 children Debbie Miranda, Eric Landeros, and Alex Landeros. Loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Joshuah Miranda who preceeded her in death, Janessa Miranda, Jayden Miranda, Damian Landeros, Isaac Landeros, Julian Landeros and Amelia Landeros. Maria was dear sister to Jesus Angel Castillo, Juan Castillo, Maria del Socorro Rodriguez, and Jose Castillo. Maria worked for People's Energy for over 20 years, where she retired from. Maria was not only a mother, but she was a best friend, a strong woman, a friend that would always be there for you no matter what. If there’s a will, there’s a way, is how she felt. She had the warmest heart you could ask for. Those that knew her, would tell you how much she just liked to have a good time. People knew her for her love of dancing. She could dance all night every night if you gave her the chance. Maria loved God and she was someone that touched many hearts. Maria leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories that we will always cherish. Her free spirit and liveliness kept her young and will be how we will forever remember her.  

Arrangements entrusted to Olen Funeral Home of Harvey; 15700 S. Emerald Ave. Harvey, IL 60426 (708-331-0654). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 from 3 PM until 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 8 AM until 9 AM. Prayers from chapel at 9 AM for 10 AM Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church of Roseland. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery of Calumet City. 

Maria will be dearly missed by family and friends.
