Jose Guadalupe Villegas

As we look back over time, we find ourselves remembering everything you have done for us.  We would like to thank our Dad for all the times you were by our sides, to help and support us, to celebrate our successes, to understand our problems, for teaching us the value of hard work, good judgement, courage, and the sacrifices you made for us.  We are also thankful for the simple things in life like love, laughter, smiles, and the times we shared.  You meant so much to all of us.

Jose G Villegas was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who dedicated many years of his life to helping others.  He was a very generous person.  He lived his life to the fullest and always maintained a high sense of happiness.  Seldom would you find Jose upset.  Jose was very proud of his Mexican heritage, and never forgot his ancestry. Every time he had the opportunity he would travel to his town in Mexico.

Jose was determined to provide his children a better life, and moved them from Los Fresnos, Jalisco, MX, to the United States. He was a hardworking man and was dedicated to providing for his extended family. He was the loving son of late Refugio and late Vicenta Villegas. Beloved father of Juvenal Villegas (Alicia), Jose G. Villegas (Alejandra), Olivia Santana (Carlos), Maria Sandoval (Francisco), Sara Villegas, Juan M. Villegas, Jose J. Villegas (Carol), Hilda Villegas (Abiam), Alejandro Villegas (Lety), and Imelda Villegas. Cherished grandfather of 34 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Fond friend of many.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 3 PM until 8 PM at the Olen Funeral Home of Harvey: 15700 S. Emerald Ave., Harvey, IL 60426 (708-331-0654). Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 9 AM until 10 AM. Prayer service to commence at 10 AM, for 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church of Harvey. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery of Glenwood.

Jose will be dearly missed by family and friends and forever will be in our hearts.
