Catherine Virginia Majszak

Catherine Virginia Majszak (“Aunt Kay”) age 86 of Mokena, Illinois, formerly of Harvey, Illinois passed away peacefully on August 22, 2020 in the Memory Care Neighborhood of Clarendale of Mokena. She was born in Harvey on November 25, 1933 to the late Benjamin and Mary (Kubisztal) Majszak. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Jean (the late Harold) Fransen, Theresa (the late Joseph) Cedzidlo, Sophia Majszak, and one brother, Aloysius Majszak. Aunt Kay is survived by one sister, Stella (Richard) Matteson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and seven nieces and nephews.

Aunt Kay was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Harvey, a member of the PLAV Women’s Auxiliary Chapter 39, and St. John the Baptist Church Altar Guild and Golden Agers Societies. Catherine was a retired office manager for Ray Buick of Chicago and was a woman of deep faith. She gave herself and time to many charitable organizations, enjoyed making baked goods for St. John the Baptist Church Annual Carnival and Food Festival, and loved to vacation in Acapulco, and cherished her dog- Coco.

Visitation for Catherine will be held on Monday, August 31^st, 2020 from 9 AM until 11:30 AM at the Olen Funeral Home of Harvey: 15700 S. Emerald Ave. Harvey, IL 60426 (708-331-0654). Prayers from Chapel at 11:30 AM for 12 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St John the Baptist Catholic Church: 15746 Union Ave. Harvey, IL 60426. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery: 801 Michigan City Rd. Calumet City, IL 60409.
