Some children leave footprints. Junior left pieces of his heart with everyone he met.

With hearts shattered beyond words, we celebrate the beautiful life of Tim R. Johnson Jr., affectionately known to all as “Junior.” Although his journey on earth lasted only 11 years, the love, laughter, and light he brought into this world will live on for a lifetime.

Junior was a vibrant student at Holden Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois, where he was known for his larger-than-life personality. If you knew Junior at school, you knew he wasn’t quiet for long. He had a natural gift for making people laugh, a contagious smile, and an unforgettable energy that filled every room he entered. He possessed a rare, beautiful ability to make everyone around him feel like an instant friend.

Outside the classroom, Junior found pure joy in life’s simple pleasures. Music was almost always playing through his headphones, framing his days with a constant rhythm. He loved football, dreaming of one day putting on a helmet and jersey of his own. He spent his happiest hours playing video games like Fortnite with his friends, watching funny YouTube videos, and—of course—never turning down a bag of Takis.

Yet, the things Junior loved most could never be bought. He loved his family with his whole heart. He deeply cherished every moment spent with his dad, a bond that meant the absolute world to him. During his very last moments, it was his dad he wanted to be with most. On his final day, Junior's spirit was full of pure excitement. He enjoyed some BBQ ribs and spent the day proudly showing off to his friends the brand-new shoes his dad had just gotten him for the upcoming school year.

Junior equally treasured every visit with his Grandma Mariela, where he was always welcomed with fierce love, laughter, and his favorite homemade meals, especially her beans, tacos, and salsa.

Junior possessed a heart far bigger than his 11 years. He was fiercely protective, deeply compassionate, and profoundly kind. He gave hugs without hesitation, cared intensely for the people around him, and always went out of his way to make younger children feel included and loved. He was the kind of boy who counted down the days to birthdays just to feel the magic of being celebrated, and who lived for sleepovers, family gatherings, and any chance to be surrounded by the people he loved. To know Junior was to know loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.

A Sister’s Love

His sister, Liliana, shares this special tribute to her brother:

“My brother loved monsters and showing me different songs, he loved playing Fortnite with his friends and always farting on me and I am going to miss my brother. I love you”

Junior leaves behind a family who will miss him beyond measure: his loving parents, Tim R. Johnson and Kaitlyn Longmire; his beloved siblings, Liliana R. Johnson and Ethan R. Longmire; his cherished grandmothers, Mariela Johnson and Sandy Longmire; his great-grandmother, Juanita Cabrera; his devoted aunts and uncles, Yuri Perez (Gaby), Stephanie Johnson (Paul), Vanessa Longmire (Brian), and Rachel Longmire; along with many cousins, relatives, classmates, teachers, neighbors, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by his bright light.

To lose Junior is to lose a piece of our collective soul. Yet, we remain forever grateful that for 11 beautiful years, we had the profound privilege of loving him and being loved by him. Junior brought a special kind of joy into this world that can never be replaced. While our hearts are broken, we are so thankful for the beautiful boy he was and the happiness he gave us all. His bright light will stay with our family forever.

An angel that was too good for this world.

Funeral Arrangements For Tim R. Johnson Jr., "Junior" Entrusted to Olen Funeral Home of Harvey: 15700 S. Emerald Ave., Harvey, IL 60426 (708)331-0654. Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

A Prayer Service will commence at 6:30 PM, Officiated by Pastor Harvey of Northside Baptist Church in Hammond, IN. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will occur following the Prayer Services, where all Family, Friends, and Relatives will be openly invited up to the microphone to share a story, joke, memory, or any kind words in Celebration of the life of Junior and to pay their respects to Junior's Family.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family graciously requests that, in lieu of floral arrangements, contributions be made toward Junior's final funeral expenses to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Envelopes and a contribution box will be available at the funeral service for those who wish to contribute.
