Josephine C. Zakis (nee Klimala) age 88 of Homewood formerly of Harvey passed away on March 4, 2017. Josephine was a retired secretary from Hartford Inusrance Company after many years of service. She enjoyed golf, Pinochle and travelling. Josephine was known for her great sense of humor, and was a hard working successful business woman. Josephine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Beloved daughter of late Louis and Karoline Klimala, loving mother of Sandra Zakis, cherished grandmother of Dawn (Tim) O'Hea, dearest great-grandmother of Ava, Sean and Emma. Loving sister of late Rose (Frank) Bielecki, Ann Klimala, Nora (late Raymond) Zientkowski, late Valerie Klimala, late John (Rita) Klimala, late August (Florence) Klimala and late Frank (Florence) Klimala. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday March 10, 2017 from 11 AM until 12 PM at St. John the Baptist Church of Harvey. Funeral Mass to commence at 12 PM with Rev. Edward Romanski officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Josephine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
