IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen
Sandelski
April 20, 1928 – February 14, 2020
Helen Sandelski, loving daughter and 4th of 7 children of the late Marian Gurgul and Anna Grzyb, loving wife to the late Louis Sandelski, most loved mother of Linda, Tom, Dianne (Dennis) and Joanne, proud grandmother (Babcia) to Kimberly, Jamie, Nick, Andrew, Adam, Jessica, and Eric, and great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother to many. Helen loved her family dearly. As a grandmother, she cherished her time with her grandkids and great- grandchildren, and they brought her much joy. Helen took great pride in the homes she owned in Harvey and South Holland. She truly loved being outside in her garden and tending to her lovely flowers. She was a master seamstress, enjoyed needlework, and could tackle any project around the house with perfection. Helen was a survivor of the atrocities of war, but started anew as an immigrant from Poland in 1946. She went on to raise a family that became the most important thing to her. She was a long-time parishioner at St. John the Baptist Parish in Harvey, IL. She was our matriarch. She was fierce and loved us fiercely as well.
