Frank J. Michor age 93, of Harvey passed away on August 7, 2017. Frank was retired from BP Corporation after 29 years of service. Frank was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the SS Jermiah M. Daily and SS Defiance during WWII. Frank was a dedicated member of the P.L.A.V. Post 39 for over 30 years, serving as Commander for 3 terms. In 1980 the P.L.A.V. honored Frank with the "Man of the Year Award", Frank served as V.A.V.S. representative to the Veterans Administration of Danville, Second Vice Commander Department of Illinois, In 1980 Frank was elected to Zone Three Commander, in 1982 he was elected to Second Vice Commander and eventually to First Vice Commander. On August 20, 1986 Frank was elected National Commander, he assumed the leadership as the Chief Executive of the P.L.A.V.. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Beloved son of late John and Anna Michor, loving husband of late Loretta Michor (nee Mysliwiec), cherished father of Nanette (Bogdan) Bryniarski, dearest grandfather of Zachary and Eric, loving brother of late John, late Edward, late Joseph, late Florence and late twin, Mary. Visitation will be on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 2 PM until 8 PM at the Olen Mortuary of Harvey, 15700 Emerald Ave Harvey, IL 60426 (708-331-0654). Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM. Prayers from Chapel at 9:30 AM for 10 AM Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church of Harvey with Rev. Edward Romanski officiating. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
