Carla Denise Moon, a beloved mother, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on April 4, 1954, Carla lived a life marked by quiet strength, warmth, and a deep commitment to her family.

Those who knew Carla remember her as a bright presence who approached life with resilience and grace. She poured her heart into her family, and raising her daughter, Danielle, creating a foundation of love and support that continues to inspire. Carla’s spirit was one of encouragement and genuine care — qualities that lit the way for her family through all of life’s trials and tribulations.

Her journey was one of dedication and quiet joy. She found meaning in the everyday moments of connection and in being a steady, loving force in the lives of those closest to her. Carla’s legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched with her kindness and perseverance at home and at work, where Carla served as a Teacher's Aid for many years. Carla found great joy through her work in the classroom, assisting the youth in learning and development – leaving a lasting impact on the classroom, students, and School District. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in her honor at Olen Funeral Home, 15700 S. Emerald Ave., Harvey, Illinois 60426, on Saturday May 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful light Carla brought into the world.

Carla Denise Moon will be remembered not with heavy hearts alone, but with gratitude for the love she gave and the strength she modeled. Her light continues to shine through her daughter and all whose lives she brightened.
